My master’s degree is complete, and I’ve learned a lot during the process. I learned how to write research papers from scratch, better ways to develop Android apps, implement machine learning models, and conduct human-computer interaction studies. I’ve built impressive projects like HomeFit AI that I am really proud of, and I am going to keep working on them now that I’ve graduated. I want to finish my medicine reminder app, platformer game, and HomeFit AI and put them on the appropriate store for everyone to purchase and use.
Looking back at all the classes I took up to my capstone, I can see where I got a lot of the inspiration and basis for HomeFit AI. The first class I took was Research Approaches in Computer Science; it taught me how to read a research paper and how to write one. Advanced Software Engineering is where I built my medicine reminder app, which had a lot of the basics I used in the early creation of HomeFit AI. I used what I learned in Data Science and Data Visualization and Extended Reality to analyze the data we collected and visualize it appropriately. In Advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, I learned how models work and how to implement them, which I did with Google’s Pose Detection ML Kit in our capstone project. Finally, Human-Computer Interaction and HCI Application Development taught me how to run a human-computer interaction study just like we did in our user study for our capstone app.
I really enjoyed all of my classes, and while some were harder than others, I was able to succeed and learn through all of it. Most of the time, my professors provided me with ample assistance and timely feedback. I’m really glad I signed up for this degree; I learned a lot and made some cool projects.
