This week should be the last setup week before we can start coding and working in Android Studio. This week, my partner and I met with our Echelon contact so he could show us how he sets up his API for this project. This was useful to see, and he gave us some useful websites to help us do it in the future.
It was important to see how he was setting it up because we will be using this API to make the challenges and series pages. I’m excited to start working on this project and get some professional experience. I’ve made apps before, but nothing ever like this, so it will be a good experience.
We still have to wait a little while longer before we can start. The API is done and pushed to GitHub, but we have to wait for the person in charge of merging on GitHub. He is busy for the next few days, so we will probably be ready to start after our next meeting on Wednesday.
Over the next few days, I will be looking at the code that was already made in Jetpack Compose. There are a few things made in Jetpack Compose, but they are slowly transitioning everything to being made in it. Now that there are some examples of it in the app already, I think that it will be pretty easy to figure out how to configure things to be what I need. I’m excited to get started.
