More setup and Jetpack Compose

By Elena Herzinger

This week was similar to last week. I finished setting things up on Android Studio, and I was added to Echelon’s Slack server, Jira board, and Zeplin project. I am currently waiting for the link to the GitHub, but once I have it, I will have everything set up to start working with Echelon.

I also watched some videos on Jetpack Compose and Kotlin, as it was recommended that I learn a bit about them before I start working on the project. Luckily for me, I have used both of these before, so I looked at the videos as a review since it’s been a couple of months since I’ve used them. For both my midterm photo editing app and my pedometer app, I used Jetpack Compose and Kotlin. I had not heard of Jetpack Compose before this week, but as I was watching the videos, I realized that I had used this before.

That was all I did for the capstone project this week. Next week I should have more to show for this project. This Wednesday my project partner and I are meeting with the Echelon team, and it sounds like we will start being able to work on things after that meeting. Right now it sounds like we will be working on the feature page for Echelon’s reflect mirror. While I’m not entirely sure what we are going to be working on for the feature page, I am excited to start on it and learn how companies like this work!
